Youth from First Lutheran Church explored the causes of racism and discrimination after racist cd’s were left on cars at Sandpoint High School. They utilized Design For Change’s Feel, Imagine, Do, Share, Design Thinking process to gain empathy and create solutions to solve this problem within Sandpoint.
To do this they created an Instagram account @7BLOVE_Project to spread love and their message.
Also, the youth have invited The Rev. Alex Schmidt to First Lutheran Church to give his workshops on bias and racism for adults and teenagers. The 7b Love Project wants to include families in their workshop to create a bigger impact in their community! So, they have also created a workshop for younger children planting the seeds of tolerance and inclusiveness.
The event is free, thanks to a grant from Sandpoint Human Rights Task Force.
