Bits & Pieces Is In Transition
The Bits & Pieces, the newsletter of our Eastern Washington-Idaho Synodical Women’s Organization, is in transition! Beginning this fall, the Bits & Pieces will be available online and not in print. Each congregation as well as those individuals who wish to sign up to receive the newsletter (a link will be provided on the Synod Web site) will receive the electronic version three to four times per year. We are grateful to Bishop Wells for providing the resources and support to make this possible. At a recent Synodical Board meeting, held during the Region 1 Gathering in June, the board discussed ways for congregational units to ensure every woman who wanted to read/receive the Bits & Pieces had that opportunity! So, after a lively discussion, they suggested that each congregational unit could engage the "buddy system." Here's how it can work … Each congregational women's board encourages all their members who have internet access sign up to receive the newsletter electronically. Then find out who doesn't have internet access and assign that person a "buddy" who does. When the Bits & Pieces comes out, the "buddy" would print out a copy of the newsletter to share. The "buddies" could get together over a cup of coffee (or tea), read it together, discuss the articles, give encouragement and build relationships. If your congregational unit has any questions, please contact Phylis Bradburn, President of the Eastern WA-ID Synodical Board, at 208-939-2753 or pabradburn@aol.com.
