Our synod's congregations and leadership are working together to transform ourselves for the sake of service to the mission of outreach and reclaiming the Great Commission for mission.
"In Reclaiming the Great Commission (Jossey-Bass, 2000), Claude Payne invites us to see the work of the synod as one church, strategically engaged in outreach through congregational mission outposts. Each outpost has both its unique gifts and is part of the overall strategy of mission for our geography. Here is an image of the "one and the many" so beautifully described by Paul in his letters to the people of Rome and Corinth. We are one church, and we are uniquely gifted to serve in Jesus' name. I give thanks for this church and for each of you, as we are "members of one another.""
